Does Battery of 2017 Ford Edge Get Disconnected When Flat Towed

Question:

I have a 2017 V-6 Ford Edge that I want to tow behind my motor home. The Ford manual says to disconnect the battery. In your reply to Loren B about this topic you recommend kit # RM 766. You say: This will allow you to disconnect the battery while still maintaining charge for accessories. Then you also recommend # RM-156-25 so I assume that you can keep your battery charged. Thats what I want - to be able to keep the accessories on so I dont lose my Sync 3 settings like radio stations, Apps, phone pairing, as well as seat, mirror and steering wheel settings. Conceptually, I am having difficulty understanding how this would work. Battery disconnected, but accessories still on. Hmmm. Youre clarification regarding this issue would be helpful. There isn't a way around having to have your vehicle unplugged when flat towing it to the extent that it would reset your radio settings etc. The charge line kits like the # RM-766 allow you to put a maintenance charge on the vehicle's battery while the vehicle is disconnected but there isn't a way to accomplish both.
