Do E-Z Lube Axles Need Bearings to be Packed by Hand
Updated 10/01/2020 | Published 09/29/2020 >
Question:
Do I need to pack bearings by hand even though it’s an e z lube axle ? Or is it just as good to use the zerk fitting. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
With an E-Z Lube axle, the bearings need to be packed by hand the first time. After that, the zerk fitting and grease gun will be able to properly grease the bearings without the need to pack them by hand again.
Though, it is good practice to regularly check for wear and tear. Even the E-Z Lube axles can experience this and may need to be replaced eventually. It's recommended to check your bearings and spindle at least once a year.
