Atwood Water Heater Only Runs on Electric if Gas Wall Switch Is Also Turned On.

Question:
We have a electric gas combo the electric will not turn on unless the gas switch is turned on. Why would that be I have a combo in my other unit with the same switch and you can run the gas and electric independently from each other.

I feel confident that the wiring behind the Atwood # AT91230 wall panel is not correct. I would disconnect all 120 volt electric and 12-volt DC then take that panel off the wall and compare it to the wiring diagram I have attached. This should be relatively easy as the plugs push or pull on/off of the spades on the back. I have also attached a video review of that switch.
