How is the Brake Buddy Powered if Battery is Disconnected?

Question:

Not really a tow bar question, but I read where I need to disconnect the battery when towing. If so, how can I power the brake buddy?

To flat tow certain vehicles, the ignition might be in a position that would normally activate certain accessories on the vehicle that would drain the batteries and aren't necessary while towing. To avoid this, some manufacturers instruct you to disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Since the Brake Buddy needs to draw power from somewhere, you need an outlet kit such as # RM-9332, which wires directly to the battery. This will allow you to disconnect the battery so your vehicle doesn't draw power, while still being able to power the Brake Buddy.
