It sounds like an A-Frame jack might be the way to go for you. If the gusset of your trailer tongue A-frame has the jack mounting holes, the Pro Series # PSRV20000103 would work great for you. The jack has a total lift of 14 inches, and a fully retracted mounting bracket height of 9 inches.
If your A-frame does not have the mounting hole, you could replace the coupler with one that does. You will want to choose a coupler with the appropriate weight rating and for the same ball size as you are using now. If you click on the provided link, you can see the replacement A-frame couplers we offer. A weld-on reinforcement plate like part # BD003135 is recommended for the underside of the A-frame.
