Question:
I installed a 7-way plug on my 2019 Toyota highlander using a 4-way to 7-way converter. I did not run the 12v power wire to my battery. Now I need a brake controller and am considering the Curt wireless controller. Will I need to run the power wire to the battery for it to work?

For your 2019 Toyota Highlander to use a brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Controller, part # C51180, you will indeed need to run the power wire of your 7-way converter to your battery.
Luckily, we have a video installation of the Echo Controller on a 2019 Highlander. In it, you'll see our techs install the 7-way and how they have run the power wire through the car to the battery. I've linked to that video for you.
You'll also need 10 gauge wiring and a circuit breaker if your converter kit did not come with one.
For your wiring, we have part # 10-1-1. It's sold by the foot.
For a circuit breaker, we have one here, part # 9510. This will mount to the front of the vehicle just as shown in the video.
Thanks to how the Curt Echo works, this is much less involved than other brake controllers which require mounting the controller and running additional brake output circuits.
