Will Thetford Base Kit 42135 Fit Aqua Magic II Toilet Model 42051?

Updated 07/29/2026 | Published 07/23/2026

Question:

I have a Thetford Aqua Magic II Toilet Model 42051 see label on toilet in picture. I need to replace the base of the toilet. I think this part 42135 fits the 42051 Toilet although it says it fits the 42059. Can you tell me if this will fit Model 42051? In the picture, you can also see a black rubber seal around the back half of the toilet. This is in a 2020 Pleasure Way On Tour 2.2. Thanks for your assistance. Clay

Hey Clay, thanks for reaching out. The Thetford Base Kit # TH34FR42JK (42135) is the correct replacement base for your Aqua Magic II Model 42051, as long as your toilet is the low-profile white version. Thetford uses the same base across multiple Aqua Magic II/Style II model numbers, which is why you'll sometimes see the kit listed under a different model like the 42059.

The black rubber piece you see around the back of the toilet is the closet flange seal that seals the toilet to the floor flange. Since you'll already have the toilet removed to replace the base, I'd recommend replacing that seal at the same time if it's worn or compressed. It'll help prevent leaks and save you from having to pull the toilet again later. For that you'll need the following:

Jesse, Thank you for your assistance. I will pursue purchasing the base (42135) if I cannot resolve the water slowly leaking from the toilet bowl through the waste ball seal and the waste ball sometimes closing a bit too far and allowing water to leak from the front side of the waste ball into the black tank. Given I have a couple of issues, I think I will soon press ahead replacing the entire base. It looks to be an easier install. Thank you again for your timely response. Clay

@ClayF Ok gotcha! Glad to help. Yes it sounds like replacing the base is the best course of action here. Let me know how it goes!
