Installation of Rear View Safety Backup Camera with Quick Connect Kit
Updated 09/02/2020 | Published 08/29/2020 >
Question:
these instructions are terrible and there is no wiring diagram. Yes I have installed a lot of systems over the years and I am mechanically inclined. With that said my camera system is the one that has the quick disconnect for towing. It is the one camera system but has connections for 3 cameras. On the wiring harness that goes under your dash which wire do I use, the V1, V2 or V3? I hooked the V1 to the power wire since I want my camera on all the time but I have not powered it up yet cause I want to make sure it is wired correctly. Thanks

I got some clarification on the installation instructions of the # RVS-770613-213 from my contact over at Rear View Safety and you will have the white (V1) and brown (V2) wires not connected at all. You will want to connect the red wire to your power source- either the reverse circuit or the 12v power and the black wire will be your ground. You will then connect the blue wire (V3) to the camera source.
I've also written up a quick guide for you here:
V1 (white)- Input 1
V2 (brown)- Input 2
V3 (blue)- Input 3
red- power source
black- ground
