Can Over Under Kit # K71-385-00 Fit 3 inch Diameter Lippert Axles
Updated 09/01/2020 | Published 08/28/2020 >
Question:
My trailer has a 5 spring stack on it and it appears the stock U bolts are 7inch with at least a spare 1/2inch of treads. How much space does the extra top mount add? Will the supplied 7inch U bolts work? I believe my axles are a 6000 lbs lippert and appears to measure at 3. It is on an 8 lug drum.

Expert Reply:
The spring seat of the # K71-385-00 that you referenced wouldn't be any thicker than the spring on your axle currently that is on the opposite side of the axle. If you check out the picture I attached you can see the u-bolts of this kit attached with a 6 leaf spring and there is enough clearance.
