Question:

Hi PLease advise what I need for my 2005 PT Cruiser Turbo so I can put on a bike rack or tow a light trailer utility or pop-up. What hitch do I need towing cap is 1,000? What quick-connect light system do I need? Will I need a braking system if I am doin a pop-up I assume so, and if so, which one? What other accessories go with towing ball hitch, extender bar, etc? If you could list the items needed I will then order from you for my mechanic to install. Thank you. Im hoping to get this done this week or next.

For your 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, I recommend starting with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11132 for your custom fit. Then I recommend the Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitch - 2-1/8" Rise, 2-3/4" Drop - 6-5/8" Long - 2K # 3593 along with the 2 inch hitch ball # 19258.

For your wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55532.

With your towing capacity it is rare that you'd need to have a 7-way or brake controller as most trailer brake systems are required for trailers 3,500 lbs or more.

For your bike rack, I recommend the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # S64683. This is a great option for the class I hitch receiver to carry two bikes up to 45 lbs each.
