As far as whether or not you can tow a trailer with your 2014 Toyota Prius you will need to check the owners manual or with a Toyota dealer for the final say on that. Our understanding is that Toyota says that you cannot tow at all with your vehicle.
With that said, we have seen instances where people will do this anyways and parts are available to do so. For a hitch you can use the Curt # C11276, which is a confirmed fit on the 2014 Toyota Prius. For the wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118505 because of the reliability of the Tekonsha converter boxes.
In addition to those parts you would also need a ball mount and hitch ball. For the ball mount you can use the # C45025 which is compatible with Class I hitches like the C11276. You will also need a hitch ball with a 3/4" shank like the # C40001 (1-7/8" ball) or # C40018 (2" ball), and a hitch pin and clip like the # F-4.
I've linked some installation videos of these parts that you may want to refer back to if you're going to be installing these parts yourself.
