Question:

Very strongly leaning towards Thule T2 Pro XT 2 bike rack and would like 2inch version. The main car is 2013 Ford Cmax Energi. Other cars in the family are 2013 Ford Escape and 2018 Subaru Crosstrek which take less expensive 2inch hitches. Would you put this rack and hitch on the CMax? 2inch I gather is more stable and gives option of 4 bike extension. Would this hitch handle 4 bike version and 4 bikes?

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7200 would be an excellent choice in hitch. It will give you the best opportunity to carry a bunch of different accessories but you would be right at the maximum most likely with 4 bikes and a 4 bike rack. Care would have to be taken and you want to also consult your owner's manual to see what it is rated for and not exceed that. On your other vehicles the rack will be perfect and shouldn't get near the capacity.

I really like the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TH83JV as a bike rack. It is made really well and is very easy to use.
