Question:

I have a Stowmaster 5000 tow bar, and a Blue Ox baseplate for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Is there an adapter I can purchase to make this combination work?

Unfortunately, there is not an adapter available that will allow you to use the Stowmaster 5000 tow bar with a set of Blue Ox base plates. This means that you also would not be able to use the Roadmaster Guardian 2nd Vehicle Kit, # RM-4000-1, that you referenced.

You have two options. First, if you want stay with your Stowmaster tow bar you could go with a set of Roadmaster base plates on your 1997 Jeep Wrangler. You would need part # RM-521424-4 if your Jeep has a double tube bumper. You could then easily attach the Roadmaster Guardian 2nd vehicle kit to the system and use your Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard RM-4000. This is the most economical option.

The other option would be to go with a Blue Ox tow bar, like part # BX7322, and a Blue Ox KarGard Towed Vehicle Protector, # BX8870. This would allow you to leave the Blue Ox base plates on your Jeep.
