Question:
Hi - can this hitch adapter be used for a 2005 Subaru Outback? We have a 1 1/4inch inch class II hitch receiver, and would like to get an adapter so we can use a bike rack that fits a 2inch receiver.

Expert Reply:
Yes the 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter part # HTAD that you referenced does fit the Class II hitch you have installed on your 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon. You should note that using this adapter does cut the capacity of your hitch by 50 percent though. A better option would be a bike rack that fits both hitch sizes like the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z.
