Question:
Hello everyone! I have a 2018 Chevy Express 3500. 6.0. I need to prepare for towing a 24’ car hauler 3700# carrying a Jeep Wrangler 3409#. I don’t believe I have a factory tow package. It does have a Draw tite but it’s only rated for 7100 with WD hitch. I would like to upgrade the hitch of course, install a brake controller that only has the rotary knob showing on the dash, and a 7 pin and 4 pin connector. The van already has a 4 pin connector I believe to be aftermarket. There seems to be some wires under the drivers side floor mat and carpet. See pics. I also have a connector the exits on the rear DS frame rail. Pic. Also I plan to run a Hensley hitch setup. What products can you recommend to make this van tow worthy??

Helpful Expert Reply:
We have a higher capacity trailer hitch that fits your 2018 Chevy Express 3500 with the part # e98861 which is rated for up to a 10,000 lb trailer.
The type of brake controller you are looking for is the Redarc Tow Pro Elite part # RED44FR which puts a small dial on the dash like you are wanting. This the best controller that installs like this and honestly rivals all controllers as well in terms of performance an reliability. I know you said you found a connector under your floor mat but that is not a brake controller install connector so instead you'll have to convert the 4-way to a 7-way with the part # ETBC7 which also comes with everything needed to install the brake controller.
