Great question and no there is no additional modifications to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # C13171 on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee with dual exhaust. It may make it a little easier to lower the exhaust by removing the bolts that hold the hangers in place. It will provide a little extra room for installing the hardware.
I have provided a link to a video on a 2015 Jeep Cherokee with dual exhaust to help walk you through the instillation. The instillation will be the same.
If you ever plan on towing I recommend T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector
Item # 118605. I have provided a link to a video to help walk you through how to get this installed.
