Question:
I have bought a car trailer. Think this ball will be enough to pull this trailer. This trailer requires a 2 5/16 ball. Is it possible to get the bigger ball in the same technology. The vehicle that will pull this trailer is 2006 GMC Sierra Dually

Expert Reply:
If the trailer requires a 2-5/16 ball, you don't want to use the 2" ball to pull the trailer. The 2-5/16 ball has a larger shank so it is not interchangeable with the Curt RockerBall Anti-Rattle Towing Kit - 2" Ball - 8-1/4" Long Mount - 7,500 lbs Item # C63KR
I recommend Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter Shank - Chrome - 12K
Item # C29FR and Curt Solid Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3" Rise, 4" Drop - 10" Long - 12K Item # C45313.
It will give you the extra 1-1/4 distance away from the vehicle, a 4" drop instead of a 3" which works well with trucks that sit a little higher like your Dually. This will allow your trailer to sit more level and both the ball and the ball mount have a 12,000 lb weight capacity.
