Question:

Hello - Im curious why many of the Thule Hanging Hitch Bike Racks are NOT approved for tow-able trailers or 5th wheels. Can they be installed on the trailer or 5th wheel with a hitch?? I look forward to your insight. Thanks,

There is much more movement at the back of a travel trailer or 5th wheel trailer, so manufacturers rate their bike racks for use on the trailer using a more rigorous testing. The shank of the bike rack and the moving pieces that make many racks more appealing for use on the back of your vehicle may be the reasons why they don't work as well under more stress on the back of a trailer.

Thule specifically makes great bike racks but they don't have any that they've rated for use on the back of a travel trailer or 5th wheel. They only rate them for use on the back of a vehicle or motorhome. That doesn't mean they won't work, but it does mean they aren't designed for that use and won't be supported by warranty when used in that application.
