If you've got a Maxx Air MaxxFan Plus like the # MA00-04751KSX you can use the MaxxAir FanMate RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover - 25" x 18-1/8" x 10-1/4" - Smoke # MA00-955003, which is designed to fit 2015 and newer MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus roof vents with mounting tabs. This will allow you to keep your vent open and running no matter what the weather is like outside.

We don't carry the Von Weise brand so we can't get the replacement motors like you mentioned. Best option we would be a new setup altogether with a motor like the #LG-1.

Based on what you described wanting the MaxxAir MaxxFan part #MA00-04751KSX is your best option. This has a 4 speed fan, a powered lift, and has no thermostat. I attached a review video for this for more info as well.
