Will the Kuat Hi-Lo Hitch Extender Work With 20x47 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier On a Jeep Wrangler
Updated 06/08/2020 | Published 06/04/2020 >
Question:
On my old Jeep JK, the tire was only 16inch but just barely cleared the cargo carrier. I now own a Jeep JL with a 245/75X17inch tire. Using this hitch adapter in the down position, can I use it in conjunction with the 20x47 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier - Aluminum - 500 lbs, Item # MT70108 that I purchased from you a few years ago? I wanted to lower the cargo carrier so I could open the rear door of my Jeep JL Sport without the 245/75x17 tire from hitting it. Also, please confirm that the tongue weight will also be reduced by 50 for this type of installation. Note: I only carry about 100 pounds max of camping gear behind the Jeep.

The Kuat Hi-Lo Hitch Extender part # HL20B can be used in either the rise or drop position so this will not be an issue. It will also work just fine with the 20x47 MaxxTow Cargo CarrierMT70108 so there will be no issues here either but keep in mind there will be a reduced tongue weight capacity of 50%.
