Question:
Connected 7 way RV trailer plug new trailer with LED lights to my 2006 VW Touareg TDI. The trailer tail lights flash but no brake or turn signals. Believe this to be a result of PWM wiring on the VW which is designed to alert me of a lamp failure. Will the Curt 51180 Echo brake controller also correct this?

Expert Reply:
The Curt Echo brake controller # C51180 does not have load resistance built into the controller so it would not simulate the additional load of incandescent trailer lights. While this is a great brake controller it would not be the adapter solution you are in need of.
We do have the 7-way adapter part # C57003 which plugs into an active 7-way and does add the additional resistance needed.
