Question:
We currently have a weight distribution hitch that we pull our camper with my F150. I believe its Item # PS49582. We now have a 2015 Tahoe and are wanting to get another hitch to be able to use on the Tahoe without have to adjust our old one. It seems that the one we currently have does not have enough drop to work properly. All of the weight dist. Packages i see all seem to have the same drop. Is it possible to just buy the head unit and shank for our new vehicle and use the old bars and chains/ hangers? Or would we just have to buy a whole new hitch package? If so what would we need to buy?

Expert Reply:
Just the parts you are wanting to replace are not available so your best option would be to go with a new system that can use the same chain hangers and does not include a shank so that you can select one with more drop like the Reese kit part # RP66021. And then for a shank part # C17123 which will give you the drop you need and for a hitch ball # 19286 and you'd be set.
