Recommended Brake Controller for 2018 Lincoln Navigator

Question:
I have a 2018 Lincoln Navigator with the factory 7 pin and 4 pin hookups for trailers. There is not a factory brake controller so need to add that. I like the newer brake controllers with the remote dial to keep the interior looking sharp and not have that big box mounted by me feet. I understand turning the dial to adjust brake sensitivity, but with those styles how do you manually turn the brake on the on without hitting the brakes on the trailer. Like a hill decent where you want to modulate the trailer brakes. The older units had a slide bar on the bottom or side to do this. Again how is this done with the small dial. Also which unit would you recommend for the 2018 Navigator and is the truck prewired and it just plugs in so that I can complete the install myself? Thank you,

I have a solution for you but I was able to find out that the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is not pre-wired for any type of brake controller installation, so your best bet is going to be to use a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180. This unit plugs into your 7 way controller and is controlled wirelessly by your Bluetooth enabled smart phone (requires iOS 8.0 or Android 4.4- or newer). This is a proportional brake controller so it will provide you with responsive braking in by far the easiest to install brake controller available. The manual override feature you were referring to is controlled by your phone, as well as any adjustments that would need to be made to the sensitivity of braking.
I've linked a review video that Randy did that provides you with a great look at how this controller works and how easy it is to install.
