Yes, the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 521181-5 for your 2008 Scion xD is compatible with the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components then I recommend picking up the following:

EZ Base Plate Kit - # 521181-5
StowMaster Tow Bar - # RM-501
Safety Cables - # RM-643
Wiring Kit - # RM-15267 (frequent towing) OR # TL21RK (occasional towing)
Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
