An electric fan will absolutely be able to keep up and is going to be a really good benefit for when you are towing with your 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. You will want to get one that has a solid cubic feet per minute (CFM), and I recommend the Derale 16" Dyno-Cool Curved-Blade Electric Fan - 1,980 CFM # D18916.
This is the best option because it is a great value, providing you with plenty of cooling power for the price. It can be used as a pusher or puller and you just need to make sure you have enough room to install the 16-1/2" wide x 15-5/8" tall x 3-5/8" deep fan.
To start the fan you can do so manually with the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans # D16740 or use a thermostat controlled option, the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Radiator Hose Probe # D16769.
I have added links to video reviews and instruction manuals for you to check out as well.
