Video Transcript for Review of Derale Radiator Fans - D16769

Today we're going to take a look at the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Radiator Hose Probe. Now this will automatically control your electric radiator fan with this adjustable in hose thermostat switch. This'll provide the necessary air flow for sufficient cooling by switching your radiator fan on when the fluid reaches a set temperature. The temperature setting, which is controlled right here, is user determined and it may be set anywhere between 32 and 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Does conserve power by turning off the fan if the fluid falls below a determined shutoff temperature. This does install in the radiator inlet tube so that the probe itself remains positioned in the hose. It does include everything laid out here on the table.

This is the thermostat switch with the probe, has the thermostat mounting bracket and the mounting hardware has this roll of 16 feet of extra wire to make your electrical connections. All your electrical connectors and cable ties are included and a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe and show how this installs. Few specs on this. The adjustable temperature range, again is 32 to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Maximum capacity is 16 amps, but that should do it for the review on the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Radiator Hose Probe..

This fan controller works well. Only complaint is that the mounting bracket screws didn't fit through the holes in the bracket, I had to expand the holes larger to get them through. Aside from that minor inconvenience I'm pleased with the item's operation. 189565

Very nice kit. Good heavy wiring and all the components needed to install it. Good directions. Could use some gradations around the adjuster to know exactly where the temperature is set, but the calculation isn't too hard. 180281

I've used this product before and it does exactly what I want it to do. I use it to tap into the ECU ground control for the hi speed fan relay coil. This along with a manual switch also tapped in, allows me to run the hi speed fan at the temps I want it to. Great price and very fast shipping. I will be a customer again. 52813

  • Fluid Leaks After Installing the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat # D16769
It is surprising to hear your hose is leaking after installing the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat, # D16769. We have not received any complaints for this product. I spoke with my contact at Derale and he said there are only a few things that typically cause leaking with this thermostat. First, make sure the included foam pad is placed over the capillary tube. Next, look at the type of hose clamp you are using. If you are using a clip, I recommend replacing it with a screw...

  • What Radiator Fan Will Work To Replace Belt Driven Fan On 1993 Olds Bravada 4.3L
For your 1993 Olds Bravada with a 4.3L V6, you will want to use a fan that is rated for 1,600 to 2,000 cubic feet per minute. If you are going to be using the vehicle for towing, the higher rated fan is recommended for additional airflow. There is no custom fit electric radiator fan for your vehicle, so you will need to measure what diameter fan will fit on your radiator. The dimensions for our electric fans are listed in the specifications on our website. If you have room for a 17...

  • Is there a Direct Fit Electric Fan Kit for a 1987 Chevrolet Pickup
Direct fit kits are not typically available when swapping from mechanical to electric fans. The best thing to do is measure the backside of your radiator and figure out how much space you have. The kit you were looking at has an overall dimension of 31-3/8 inches wide, 15-3/4 inches tall, and 3-1/4 inches deep. Provided you have enough room for this assembly to fit, it should be able to be installed with no problem. Since you want a fan kit with that is controlled via a thermostatic...

  • Electric Fan and Shroud Kit Recommendation for 1995 Dodge Ram with 5.9 liter Engine
We have electric fan and shroud kits that would work great most likely for your 1995 Dodge Ram but I am going to need to know the size of the area behind the radiator to give you the best recommendation. I tried looking up that dimension and it looks like most places are saying it's right at 26 by 19 inch which is pretty standard so that would make sense but I would want you to verify that first before ordering. We have the dual fan and shroud kit part # D16927 which would be a great...

  • Will Electric Fans be Effective for 2002 Dodge Ram
An electric fan will absolutely be able to keep up and is going to be a really good benefit for when you are towing with your 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. You will want to get one that has a solid cubic feet per minute (CFM), and I recommend the Derale 16" Dyno-Cool Curved-Blade Electric Fan - 1,980 CFM # D18916. This is the best option because it is a great value, providing you with plenty of cooling power for the price. It can be used as a pusher or puller and you just need to make sure you...

This unit measures 28-5/8" Wide x 13-7/8" tall x 3-1/2" deep. The mounting dimensions are 25-5/8" wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/2" deep. • Can the Positive and Negative Leads be Switched to Reverse Fan Rotation on Radiator Fan # D18914
The Derale electric fan, # D18914, is a pusher or puller fan. To reverse the rotation, you would switch the wire leads. I tested it myself just to be certain and sure enough when the leads were switched the fan spun in the opposite direction. I do not think you will be able to use a PWM system with this fan. You would need some sort of control module and the fan is not designed for pulses of voltage as it will not sustain operation unless a constant 12 volts is applied to it. To...

  • Fan Recommendation for a Transmission Cooler When Travelling at Low Speeds
If you are planning on traveling on steep grades, at a low speed, in high heat...a fan in front of the transmission cooler you have would be a great idea. I am not sure how big your cooler is but the 8 inch fan part # D16618 should work well and then you could use the thermostatic control part # D16769 so that you can program it to come on at a certain temperature.

You will want to make certain you have sufficient room to install the fan. I have linked you to our product page that has several fans, and also shows the dimensions for the fans.
