Question:

I have a base plate with the removable arms on my CRV and would like to buy the brackets for a 2000 Silverado 1500 reg cab short bed 4X4 so I can tow it. My tow bar is rated to 6500#s.Would need a light kit too. Thanks

The base plates that fit specific vehicles can't be adapted to other vehicle by just swapping out a portion of it. You'll need an all new base plate kit that fits your 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 like the Roadmaster # 131-8.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
