If you are going over a mountain and lose signal will it still work

Yes. The Curt Echo, part # C51180, only needs to be connected your phone via Bluetooth which mountainous terrain won't interfere with. If your phone loses cell service it's not an issue because the only time you need a network connection for you phone to work with the Echo is when you're downloading the app. After that it's just connected directly to the Echo.

Additionally, if something did cause the Bluetooth connection to go out the Echo still works. You won't be able to make any changes to the settings or use the manual override at the time though.
