Question:
Our kwikee steps go out when theyre supposed to go in and Visa versa. We reversed polarity and it still done the same thing. Would this be a bad control module.

Expert Reply:
When your steps are operating exactly opposite of what they are supposed to it is not a bad control module but rather the wrong switch. They have some that are closed circuit switches and some that are open circuit switches meaning they will work exactly opposite of each other.
The Replacement Door Switch for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301694 is an open switch which is what most steps post 1999 use that completes the circuit when the door is closed which tells the step's brain that it's time to retract the steps. The closed switch is # LC369299 primarily used on pre-1999 steps tells the steps to retract when the door is opened.
