Question:

I am wondering which slide out supports I need for my travel trailer slide. The trailer has one slide and the dry weight is 6500, total capacity 8800. Should I buy the supports with the 6000 lb capacity? Not sure if the weight capacity is considering the slide weight or total trailer weight?

The first step to choosing the right slide out supports for your camper is to measure how high off the ground your slide outs are when your camper is on level ground. Slide out supports are adjustable to fit different heights, so even if you park on uneven ground, the supports will still fit under your camper as long as you choose your support with your level-ground height in the middle of the range.

For weight capacity, the slide out support only has to support the weight of your slide out plus the weight of any campers standing on the slide out.
