Can Handle on Bristol Waste Valve Body for RV Gray Water be Removed

Question:

Our RV uses a threaded extender rod on the 1 1/2” waste valve. Does the handle on this item unscrew from the valve body, so I can connect the extender rod?

I could not remove the handle until I used a set of vice grips to hold the rod. Then the handle came off smoothly.

@JoeB Thanks for the update! Sometimes things that are designed to be easily removable can become seized over time so I'm glad to hear that you were able to get the old handle off!
