Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2019 Ford Fiesta SE & How to Choose a High-Low Adapter
Question:
2019 Ford Fiesta SE manual. I want to make sure that I’m ordering everything I need to flat tow the Fiesta. The motorhome is a 2020 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 32SA. I think I will need a high/low adapter, but I don’t know which one to order. Any help with that would be appreciated. What I plan to order: 1. RM524438-5 baseplate 2. RM676 Nighthawk All Terrain tow bar 3. SM99251 Stay in Play DUO Wiring - should I use RM152LED or RM15267? My turn signal and brake light are both through the red lens on the rear. Do I need any other items with the wiring kit? If so, which parts? Does the Stay in Play DUO require any additional wiring components besides what’s included? I am also ordering the tow bar cover, RM 055-3, and receiver RM-212. Thank you for your advice.

Definitely a smart idea to ensure you are ordering all the right parts to flat tow your 2019 Ford Fiesta SE because it's a bundle of parts. So let's start with the parts you mentioned.
- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524438-5 does fit your '19 Fiesta
- Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 is also compatible with the direct-connect base plates you chose and is the best tow bar on the market so it is a great choice that will fit the Tow Bar Cover # RM-055-3 you mentioned.
In regards to the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251, the only other thing required for this system on your Fiesta is the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400. What this kit does is ensure your Fiesta's brake signal doesn't override the RV's brake signal.
For the wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 because it not only includes the connectors, but also doesn't require you to drill into your tail light housing and uses your Fiesta's bulbs, so you don't have to worry about the small bulbs in the other kit burning out and the hassle of replacing them.
Now, in regards to choosing a high-low adapter, it is really simple. All you need to do is measure from the ground to the center of the trailer hitch on your 2020 Tiffin Allegro. Then you can measure from the ground to the center of where the base plate attaches. Since you won't have the base plates already attached to your Fiesta, it is okay to estimate since you know where the base plates will be attached on your '19 Fiesta, which is just below the license plate.
Just subtract the difference between the two to get the rise or drop you need. Since the trailer hitch on your Allegro is definitely going to be higher so the dimension is going to be the amount of drop you need. For example, if the center of the hitch on your Allegro was 15 inches from the ground, and the base plate centers were 9 inches from the ground you'd need High-Low Adapter # RM-076.
