Why Won't the Bulb and Socket Tail Light Kit Work On a 2018 Chevy Equinox Premier

From what I’m reading on your site, Am I correct in assuming that this kit is not compatible with my Equinox? If not then I guess I need to go with the diode setup and the 10w 5 ohm resistors and what is the part number on the resistors? We previously towed a 2011 Ford Taurus Limited with the Roadmaster crossbar setup. I’d kept the crossbar and twist in couplers and I’m wandering if this crossbar is compatible to the 2018 Equinox Roadmaster 523193-4.

The bulb and socket tail light flat-tow wiring harness kits like the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-152-LED will not work on a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier because there isn't space inside the housing to mount the bulb and socket because of the LEDs. Therefore, the best option would be a diode kit like the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 which are much less invasive anyhow. There will be no additional resistors required to use the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit.
In regards to base plates, you can use the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit part # RM-523193-4 if you have a crossbar style tow bar like the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar part # RM-520.
