Recommended Brake Controller for International TerraStar
Published 02/25/2020 >
Question:
I recently purchased a 2014 terrastar international. I’m going to be using this truck to haul my 12k spray foam trailer. Unfortunately the truck was not equipped with with electric bakes . What would you recommend for high quality trailer brakes?

Expert Reply:
I don't have any specifics on an International TerraStar but I do know a lot of these types of trucks use a 24 volt electrical system which will not work with most electric trailer brake controllers. However, we do have one that will work with 24 volt electrical systems as well as 12 volt electrical systems in the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite is actually a really great option because in addition to the 24 volt compatibility has both a proportional and user controller mode which really lets you take complete control of the trailer's brakes.
