According to Saris, their # SAR43FR Guardian 3 bike trunk mounted bike rack is compatible with your 2019 GMC Terrain. Strictly speaking, nothing else is required however if you're planning on carrying women's bikes or bikes that have a top tube that isn't more or less parallel with the ground, you'll want to use an adapter bar like # 64005. The adapter bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, providing a level attachment point for the bike which helps ground clearance.
It's very important that 1) The rear hatch is NOT opened with the rack installed. 2) Do NOT use the rear wiper with the rack in place.
