Question:
Will this adapter work on an 02 expedition with the ford factory tow package, or do you have another that will? I do not have the trailer brakes as far as I know.

If you want to add a 7-Way trailer connector and you already have a 4-Way on your 2002 Ford Expedition, you will need to use # 37185. The 4-Way plugs into the 4-Way end on the vehicle then you would need to hardwire the remaining 4 wires to make it all functional.
The white wire must be grounded to the vehicle frame. The purple wire attaches to the reverse light wire on the truck if the trailer has reverse lights or a reverse electric lock out on the coupler. If not this wire can be taped up and stowed out of the way.
The blue wire would connect to a brake controller blue wire. If your trailer does not have electric brakes you can also stow this wire. The black wire provides 12 volt power to accessories on the trailer if equipped. It would get connected to the battery via a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540. If the trailer does not require 12 volt power then this wire can also be taped up.
If the trailer does not have any trailer connector and you need to add a 7-Way you will need to start by installing a 4-Way, # 118344, see instructions link. Then you would need to install a 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that will with any of the hardwiring you may need to do.
