Can Rhino-Rack Crossbar System for RetraxONE XR Tonneau Cover Handle Rooftop Tent

Question:

So I know this question has been asked before, but I have a little confusion with regards to the answer. Your video on the Rhino rack bars specifically states these bars are not a good combination for a roof top tent system, yet the experts say they are fine. So I guess my question is, I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with a retraxone xr. I would like to know if the Rhino rack system RLT600/ and 71inch aero bars will be sufficient to hold my RTT. I have also seen other sites stating the 2500 series bars do not make a suitable foundation. Any help would be appreciated.

So I reached out to Retrax to find out if the Trax Rails on the RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-60232 had a weight capacity and they said no; the rails will accept any capacity of the roof rack.

With that in mind, you can definitely use the Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbar System for Retrax XR Series and Mountain Top EVO-M Tonneau Covers - Black - 71" Long # RRVA180B-RRRLT600 with a rooftop tent.

The rooftop tents we carry, such as the Yakima SkyRise HD Tent for Roof Rack Crossbars # Y07436, only require the roof rack have a 165 lb capacity, and the Rhino-Rack has a 220 lb capacity as it is so you can absolutely use this Rhino-Rack system with your rooftop tent.
