Question:
Is there an alternative to the Curt Echo wireless brake controller as I only have the iPhone 7, I guess I could upgrade to another phone if I have no other options, thank you for your help.

We do have the somewhat similar Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 which mounts on the trailer and instead of using a phone to control like the Curt Echo # C51180 it uses a handheld remote you'd keep in the tow vehicle. It's a little more involved to install than the Echo since you have to mount it to the trailer frame and then wire it in. That said, the Curt Echo does not require an iPhone 8 or newer. It requires the iOS to be 8.0 or higher which you'd easily meet that requirement with an iPhone 7. iOS is the firmware of the phone and not the actual phone version. So if you wanted to use the Echo you certainly could.
