Question:
2019 Chevy Silverado Custom with Curt Spectrum Brake Controller 51170 Friday night around midnight, I looked into my garage and the green light was on my Curt Spectrum brake controller. I opened the pick up door, tapped on the control knob and closed the door and the green light went out. Sunday morning I noticed that the red light was on and an again I opened the drivers door and shut it and the red light went off. Is this normal???

Good news is nothing is wrong with your system. I reached out to Curt and they have ran into this a few times with the newer model Chevrolet pickups. Basically the truck occasionally will run a systems check. This is a quick surge of power that gets sent around to verify everything.
The Spectrum picks up that signal and gets confused when you open and close the door it is basically resetting it for lack of a better term. The LEDs that you see are just that lights similar to a phone charger plugged in. There is no worry of the trucks battery being drained down so far that you will have any issues. They are looking into a fix for this and currently working with GM on it but haven't come up with a solution for the lights intermittently coming on.
