Question:
I have a 4 flat trailer with a wire for reverse and a 5 flat at the vehicle. Could I use this male snap plug on the reverse wire to plug into the reverse spot on the 5 way?

I went to the warehouse and pulled the Deka Wiring Snap Plug # DW05712-1 to test with a 4 way vehicle connector and even though it looks like they might fit together, they do not provide a secure connection so you won't be able to use this to wire your reverse lights. For this reason, in order to have the reverse lights on your trailer function properly you'll need to replace the 4 way on your trailer with a 5 way like the Hopkins Endurance 5-way Flat Trailer Connector # HM47910. The good news about this is that you can still use the 5 way trailer connector with a 4 way vehicle connector, if you ever need to tow that trailer with another vehicle.
