I do have an option for you but the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" part # C11564 is not a fit for the 2017 Volkswagen GTI.
If you are looking for a concealed cross tube so the only portion of the hitch that is visible once installed is the receiver tube I recommend EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7310 which is a confirmed fit for the GTI. This is the only concealed cross tube option that is a fit for the GTI at this time (December 2019). It does require a bit of fascia trimming but it looks cleaner. I have attached an installation video and photo for your reference.
