Why doesn’t this 7way plug work in my 2017 Ford F-150?

The 7-way plug you sent in a picture of looks a bit rough and is most likely not working on your 2017 Ford F-150 because of corrosion preventing the circuits from being completed. You can try cleaning the pins with some sandpaper to see if that takes care of the issue or you could replace the 7-way with a new one like the # 54006-059 that you referenced.
