Looking for the the strongest fifth wheel mount for a 18K Patriot fifth wheel its a 1998 1 ton dually would like to have a full plate Mount instead of just the L brackets

In order to use the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3255 on a 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series 3500 you will need the B&W Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit part # BWRVR3200. That said, I understand you are looking for a kit which does not use L-brackets like the above but the problem is that they don't offer a kit for the truck above with the one-piece side plates which I think it what you are after.

The kits which contain one-piece side plates are custom install kits meaning they don't require drilling but this has nothing to do with strength so you should not have any concerns here. The kits which use L-brackets are just as strong as the kits that use one-piece side plates, it's just a matter of drill vs no-drill is all. However, again they do not offer kits with one-piece side plates for the above truck so I am afraid you don't have a choice.
