Question:
I have the 2018 4Runner ORP and would like to buy a travel trailer. I have the KDSS and a tow hitch receiver with 7-and4 pin connector. Do I need anything else besides the brake controller #C51180

Expert Reply:
As long as you have an active 12V circuit on the 7-way on the 2018 Toyota 4Runner and a smart device Apple: 8.0-newer or Android: 4.4-newer you have all that you need to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180. The Curt Echo only requires an active 12V circuit because it's internal sensor senses when the 4Runner is braking and activates the trailer brakes. The Curt Echo is one of the easiest brake controller installation options because of that. You can use your smart device to control the settings compared to a bulky brake controller box in the cab. I have attached a review video for your reference.
