Question:
I have a Reese Elite RE 18k hitch on my 2016 Ford F250 Super Duty. I have already damaged my cab twice. Im trying to convert to a sliding hitch without spending a lot. Will my hitch work if I attach it to this item

There isn't a slider base replacement solution for your hitch as Reese does not offer a way to convert the hitch you have to a slider. There really isn't a low cost solution but since you are going to have to replace the hitch with a slider hitch the best option is the B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3370 which is made in the USA and has the reputation for being the best hitch you can get. This hitch is extremely well made and easy to use and since it holds the king pin very tightly it provides the smoothest ride quality as well. This is also a bit less expensive than the slider Elite Reese hitch # RP30144 that also is a fit for your truck.
If you prefer not every having to get out and operate a slider mechanism we have an automatic sliding hitch with the Demco Hijacker # DM8550024.
Another really great solution that is more of a longshot that allows you to keep your current hitch is to swap out the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder which is designed for giving short bed trucks better turning clearance without needing a slider hitch. For that I'll need to know specifically what model pin box you have. That info will be listed on the pin box itself. If you have the very popular Lippert 1621 you could use the part # RP34FR and you'd have the least expensive and arguable best option out there. Let me know what you find on your pin box if you want to go this route if you have something different and I'll see if there's a Sidewinder solution! I attached an install video for a Sidewinder as well.
