Question:
I think I want to use the Tow-Pro Redarc brake controller on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma but a bit confused on how it is installed and what all is needed. Also, is this what you recommend for a brake controller?

The correct Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma is part # RED44FR. However, you will also need the Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # 3031-S. The Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers simply plugs in under your dash and then the other end with blunt cut wires gets connected to the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller using the supplied butt connectors. That said, the wires are the same color and there are only four of them so this will be super easy for anyone to do on their own.
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite is one of the best brake controllers on the market. The reason for this is because it has both user controlled and proportional braking modes which lets you take full control of your trailer. Furthermore, the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite has the most factory like appearance of any other brake controller and when using the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # 331-TPSI-002, there is no drilling into your dash required like there would be for most other options.
I have attached a photo of the control knob with mounting panel on a Tacoma so you can see how clean of an install it is.
