Question:
What happens when you run 3/8 line on 1/2 cooler? Can you run 1/2 lines with ADAPTERS ON TRANSMISSION to cooler?

Generally speaking, you won't want to run a larger line into a smaller opening with an adapter because the difference will create a buildup of pressure that will likely cause the line to burst, but running a smaller inlet into a larger port is possible. I checked with Derale and they mentioned that running a smaller line into a larger port just means that not as much fluid is going to be pushed into the cooler and it will run less efficiently, but it won't damage the cooler.
Derale does make a kit that is compatible with your smaller 3/8" transmission lines with part # D13960 , which is what I would recommend for your application.
