Lippert Solera Awning Blows Fuse When Trying To Extend Arms
Updated 08/04/2025 | Published 09/30/2019 >
Question:
Our Lippert Components Solera power awning was working just fine. Then we drove a somewhat rough dirt road for about 20 miles this morning, leaving Chaco Canyon National Park in New Mexico. When we arrived at our next stop this afternoon, the 15-amp fuse blew when we tried to extend the awning. I replaced the fuse and tried pressing the Retract button - to try to determine if the problem was in the Extend or Retract circuit. Blew the fuse again. Clearly the rough ride chaffed a wire or shorted a component somewhere. But has anyone else encountered this problem ?

There could be one of two things that is not allowing your awning to extend. The first of which as you mentioned is a wire short so be sure to open up the head and pull the switch to look for loose or broken wires. If none are found then there could also be an issue with the actual arm so be sure to manually extend and retract the awning that way you can check to see if the arms are bent. If all else fails you will need to take the trailer into a dealer for service.
The good news is that there are tons of replacement parts for the Lippert Solera Awnings which I have attached a list of for you below to look through.

We have the same problem, without using the trailer my husband changes the fuse and it automatically blows and it is the 15 fuse of the awning
