Replacement F78x15B Tire Recommendation For A 1989 Terry Resort 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

What tires should I put onto my 1989 Terry Resort 5th wheel? The rig was given to us. I cannot find the owners manual and the sticker which specifies tires is hard to understand. We are looking at 225/75R15 tires but the sticker simply says G.A.W.R. ALL AXLES 2730 PER AXLE WITH F78x15B TIRES 15X5.00inch Can you decipher that for me?

The F78x15B tire (does) translate to a 205/75-15 size tire replacement. My recommendation is the Taskmaster Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D, Item # TR20515D.

For general road use, radial tires are preferable to bias ply and a load range of D provides a maximum load of 2,150 lbs at 65 psi. Additional load range and speed rating (N in this case) capacity helps reduce heat generated and wear when your tires are under pressure in use. Goodyear tires also have additional sidewall reinforcement that is similar to what they use on their truck tires to prevent the rubber from being damaged. Finally they are made in the USA which is rare.
