i have purchased 4 4.5inch LED optronics tail lights to replace the standard lights these have the rubber grommet and i can not get the lights in the grommets i have pushed with all I can and they wont go in

I went out to the warehouse and pulled both the lamp you mentioned, part # STL23R24B and the grommet, # A45GB. As you can see in the short video we produced for you, the parts do indeed fit together.
The fit is kind of tight, and you will need to start the lamp into the grommet and then work your way around stretching the grommet into place around the lamp.
Soaking the grommet in hot water for a few minutes will soften it a bit and make it more pliable. You can also try lubricating the inside of the grommet with dish detergent and water to help the lamp slide in to place.
